Personal Best Project
A once in a lifetime chance to get involved with the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games and achieve your personal best!
Great opportunity for those that are 19 years old and currently unemployed and not in training, to study at Leicester College for 6 weeks and then volunteer on a placement for 8 weeks.
Gain a City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Preparation for Event Volunteering. Units on:
- Developing team and interpersonal skills; emergency and fire awareness; public safety; conflict resolution; understanding equality and diversity; understanding customer relations; becoming a volunteer; volunteering and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- The opportunity to volunteer at local sporting, cultural and community events.
- A guaranteed interview for 2012 London Olympics and the prospect to become a Games Time Volunteer.
- Receive mentoring and support with a Personal Best Adviser during the programme to include advice on further training and help with looking for jobs.
Course dates:
24th August
2010.
Timetable:
Attend 3 days per week 9:30am - 3:30pm (15 hours) for 6 weeks.
Volunteer for 30 hours and over a duration of 8 weeks.
