Money to pay for housing
Housing Benefit and Local Housing Allowance are money you could get to help you pay your rent. It may not be enough to pay for all of your rent.
People who rent their house from their local council can apply for Housing Benefit.
People who rent their house from a private landlord can apply for Local Housing Allowance.
You can still get Housing Benefit or Local Housing Allowance if you receive
Income Support or disability benefits.
You cannot get Housing Benefit or Local Housing Allowance if you are a
full-time student.
