Connexions Leicester Shire works with a range of professionals to support and develop the provision of careers education, information, advice and guidance for local young people.

This area of our website has been developed to support those who have responsibility for developing and delivering careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) services to meet the new national quality standards.

Department for Education no longer funding free copies of 'Which way now?' and 'It's your choice'

The Department for Education (DfE) has taken the decision to only produce online PDF and Word docs of the ' It's your choice' and 'Which way now?' booklets, and the accompanying 'Practitioners Guide'.

 

As there is still a lot of demand for these publications VT Careers Management are offering schools and colleges the chance to purchase printed copies at an approximate cost of 75p each. These will not be available until midway through the Autumn term but you can order copies now. Leicestershire Children Young People’s workforce glossary

Leicestershire Children & Young People’s Board have produced a glossary of acronyms and commonly misunderstood terms to help members of the children and young people's work force communicate more effectively.

Learning sessions for families applying for free PCs and internet access

Family Learning wants to offer schools who have a number of families applying for free PCs and internet access under the government's Home Access Scheme the opportunity to attend learning sessions to help them:

•Use their new computer safely.
•Use sites that will support their children’s homework.
•Find out about fun activities to do at home to help them and their child develop their IT skills.

From September 2010 BTECs are being renamed to fit into the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Post-16 powerpoint presentation

Post 16 PowerpointThis powerpoint presentation can be used to help year 11 students prepare for their post-16 interview.  This presentation is referred to in the letter sent to schools from Connexions and Vesa, encouraging students to take their Progress File presenter or equivalent to their post-16 interview.


Connexions Training and Assessment Services

The new website for Connexions Training and Assessment Services (CTAS) was launched in September.

CTAS is a specialist provider of high quality training, with extensive expertise in information, advice and guidance studies.
